On September 26, 2025, the Indian Air Force officially retired its last fleet of MiG-21 fighter jets after more than 60 years of service. India has formally urged Russia to immediately release and repatriate 27 Indian nationals who, according to reports, were recruited into the Russian military under dubious or coercive circumstances.
