Adivi Sesh credits Akshay Kumar’s Pad Man for Dacoit’s Hindi-Telugu strategy: "It was a Tamil story and yet it was set in Madhya Pradesh" Mrunal Thakur, Adivi Sesh, Anurag Kashyap and Zayn Marie Khan attended the trailer launch of the Hindi version of their film Dacoit: Ek Prem Katha in Mumbai. The film is not dubbed in Hindi and has been simultaneously filmed in Telugu as well as Hindi. Adivi Sesh explained the reason behind it and he remembered the Akshay Kumar-starrer Pad Man (2018), based on the incredible life of Arunachalam Muruganantham. Adivi Sesh began by saying, “In the US, people wear black dresses to a funeral. Log chashme laga ke silently rote hai. But in India, we wear white and we cry loudly while mourning. So, it’s a cultural thing and there are also cultural nuances. That’s how we tweaked the song ‘Chichubuddi’ to ‘Touch Buddy’ for the Hindi audience. The Hindi song blended the Bhojpuri flavour of Pawan Singh and the urban flavour of Jonita Gandhi. That’s an example of things we did on a very fun, practical way. ”He added, “As for the story, there was a lovely film I saw, Pad Man. I was intrigued by the plot and I researched it. That’s when I learned that it’s a Tamil story. It made me wonder ‘Hum Tamil story Hindi audience ko kyun nahin dikha sakte? Usko Madhya Pradesh mein set karne ki kya zaroorat hai?’. After all, it’s based on true events. ”Adivi Sesh continued, “So, I thought of setting a story on the Badlands of Andhra Pradesh-Karnataka bor... #Anurag_Kashyap #Akshay_Kumar #Mrunal_Thakur #Adivi_Sesh #Zayn_Marie #Marie_Khan #Prem_Katha #Pad_Man #Khan_attended #film_Dacoit

BREAKING: Anurag Kashyap’s Dev D to re-release on April 24 In the pre-Gangs Of Wasseypur (2012) era, it was Dev D (2009) that made Anurag Kashyap a force to reckon with. It attained a cult following and 17 years after its release, it's all set to re-release in cinemas on April 24. As per an article in Bombay Times, the Abhay Deol-Kalki Koechlin-Mahie Gill starrer will be back on the big screen, but only in select theatres. It also carried quotes of Anurag Kashyap, Abhay Deol, Kalki Koechlin and music director Amit Trivedi. Anurag said, “To see Dev D return to the big screen feels special. It’s a film meant to be experienced collectively with Amit Trivedi’s music and Rajeev Ravi’s cinematography powering the narrative. I am curious to see how the new generation responds to it. ”Kalki Koechlin revealed, “I remember being so nervous about my Hindi lines that every morning on set, I would practise all my vowels and consonants in Devanagari to get the pronunciation right. The best part about shooting the film was not knowing anything about filmmaking, because it meant I didn’t care about the camera angle or how I looked on camera. ”Interestingly, it was lead actor Abhay Deol who suggested the idea of the film to Anurag. He explained, “I remember when I would narrate the idea of Dev D, the most common reaction I got was that it was ‘too arty’ to be made. When I narrated it to Anurag, I didn’t tell him it was a contemporary treatment. I just narrated a love story. It was a dramatic day as The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond's release almost got pushed by two weeks due to an order by Kerala High Court. However, the makers immediately filed for an appeal after which the stay on the release was lifted. Consequently, the film was released from the evening of Friday, February 27. Around the same time, producer Vipul Shah held a press conference and gave headline worthy quotes. Vipul thundered, "Anurag ji made a film, That Girl In Yellow Boots (2011) which touched upon a daughter and father's immoral relationship. So, when a director makes a film about a daughter and father's physical relationship, should we take his viewpoint seriously? This was a question raised by our director Kamakhaya Narayan Singh. "He added, "I was hoping that since Anurag talks openly, he would react to this comment by our director. Hopefully, in a few days, he'll share his answer. I don't personally like to comment on someone's view. "When remarked that his films targets a particular religion, Vipul said, "First and foremost, we have not targeted any religion or community in the film, neither in The Kerala Story (2023) or The Kerala St... #Kerala #High_Court #hits_back #Anurag_Kashyap #Kerala_Story #Kerala_High #Story #Vipul_Shah #Rehman_Dakait #show_Rehman

Anurag Kashyap REACTS to being named in Epstein Files, denies any link: “Clickbaits in my name are more popular than my films” Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has publicly responded after his name surfaced in the so-called Epstein Files, a set of documents tied to the late financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein that have been widely circulated online and have drawn global attention. In recent days, digital copies of unverified court records, emails and other material linked to Epstein’s network have reignited debate about numerous public figures whose names appear in the files. Among them, Kashyap — known for acclaimed films such as Gangs of Wasseypur and Black Friday — was referred to in one of the email exchanges as a “Bollywood guy” and a “famous Bollywood director. ”Speaking to Hindustan Times, Kashyap strongly denied any involvement or association with Epstein or the events mentioned in the documents. “I’ve no clue about this. I get invitations as a speaker, about 15 a month. I rarely respond,” Kashyap said, underlining that he often receives invitations from various organisations and forums. “Also, I have never been to Beijing in my life,” he added, referring to the alleged event location noted in the circulated files. Commenting on the nature of the documents and the accompanying speculation, the filmmaker questioned their credibility. “It’s some random email, that’s self-explanatory. The clickbaits in my name are more popular than my films,” Kashyap said... #Epstein #Jeffrey_Epstein #Epstein_Files #Anurag_Kashyap #offender_Jeffrey #Kashyap_REACTS #so-called_Epstein #Filmmaker_Anurag #global_attention #Kashyap
