The 69th Dhammachakra Pravartan Din will be observed on October 2, 2025, at Deekshabhoomi in Nagpur, commemorating Dr. B. R. Ambedkar's historic conversion to Buddhism in 1956. This year, the event will commence at 6 PM with Bhikkhu Chandima Thero from Sarnath, Uttar Pradesh, serving as the chief guest. Bhadant Arya Nagarjun Surei Sasai, President of the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Smarak Samiti, will preside over the ceremony, while Dr. Raj Shekhar Wundu, Additional Chief Secretary from Chandigarh, and Bhante Vinacharya from Uttar Pradesh will be honored as guests of honor. Notably, the organizing committee has opted not to invite political leaders to the event this year. In preparation for the anticipated influx of devotees, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation has implemented extensive arrangements, including the installation of 120 drinking water taps, 1,000 toilets, and the deployment of 650 sanitation workers across three shifts. To accommodate the large number of visitors, Nagpur Metro will extend its operating hours from 5 AM to midnight on October 2, offering a 30% fare discount. Central Railway has also announced special train services from cities like Pune, Solapur, and Nashik to Nagpur, with additional trains and holding areas at Nagpur and Ajni stations to manage the crowd effectively. The event's significance is underscored by the ongoing development efforts at Deekshabhoomi, despite a temporary halt in construction due to protests over a proposed basement parking facility. The Nagpur Metropolitan Regional Development Authority is working to resume development activities, excluding the parking area, to prepare for the event. #DhammachakraPravartanDin #Deekshabhoomi #BRAmbedkar #BuddhismCelebration #NagpurEvents #ReligiousHeritage #PublicSafe
