Czechia vs. Republic of Korea Highlights The World Baseball Classic took center stage at the Tokyo Dome, as Czechia and the Republic of Korea clashed in an exciting matchup that had fans on the edge of their seats. The game lived up to its hype, with both teams giving it their all and leaving everything on the field. In a thrilling contest, the Republic of Korea emerged victorious, 5-3, behind a strong performance from starter Kim Woo-chan. The right-hander tossed five solid innings, allowing just one earned run while striking out seven Czechia batters. The Koreans got off to a hot start, scoring two runs in the top of the first inning on an RBI single by Park Chan-ho and a sacrifice fly by Choi Joo-hwan. They added another run in the third frame when Lee Jae-won blasted a solo homer to left field. Czechia refused to back down, however, as they fought their way back into the game. In the bottom of the fifth inning, Lukas Schütz singled home the tying run, making it 3-2 in favor of the Koreans. The Republic of Korea regained the lead in the top of the seventh when Lee Sung-yoon doubled in a run and later scored on an RBI single by Kim Ha-seong. The Czechia team threatened in their final at-bat, but relief pitcher Go Woo-suk shut the door with a key strikeout to secure the win. The victory improved the Republic of Korea's record to 2-1 in Pool F, while Czechia fell to 1-2.
