An 85-year-old British woman, Pauline Crowther Ann, was found dead in her residence on Jantar Mantar Lane, New Delhi, on July 30, 2025. Initially, her death was presumed to be accidental, possibly resulting from a fall. However, a postmortem examination revealed that she had died from strangulation, prompting the Delhi Police to register a murder case. Investigations indicate that she had been residing in India for the past one to two months, following the death of her Indian husband. At the time of her death, she was living with her son and daughter-in-law, who were not present at the house.
