Senators Acquire Warren Foegele from Kings The Ottawa Senators have bolstered their forward corps by acquiring Warren Foegele from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for a 2024 third-round draft pick, the team announced Tuesday. The 27-year-old Foegele, who has struggled to find consistency in his NHL career, is expected to bring a physical presence and some much-needed depth scoring to the Senators' lineup. Foegee, who was drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes in the seventh round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, has played for the Minnesota Wild and Los Angeles Kings over the course of his four-year career. In 143 games with those teams, he has managed just 21 goals and 34 points while averaging less than 12 minutes of ice time per game. Despite his modest production, Senators general manager Pierre Dorion believes Foegele's skills will be a good fit for Ottawa's style of play under head coach D.J. Smith. "Warren is a player who has the ability to create chaos in front of the net and create scoring opportunities," Dorion said. "We think he'll bring a physical presence to our lineup and give us some much-needed depth scoring." Foegele, who will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of this season, will likely slot into Ottawa's bottom-six forward group alongside players like Josh Norris and Austin Brassard.
