In an interview with Business Insider, Probst revealed that watching actual police interrogations has become one of his favorite pastimes when he's not busy hosting the show or working on other projects. "I love true crime and I love the art of interviewing," he explained. "There's something fascinating about watching skilled detectives try to get to the truth." Probst, who has been hosting "Survivor" since 2002, said that he stumbled upon police interrogation videos while researching a different project. He was hooked from the start. "I found myself mesmerized by the way these detectives would slowly build a case against the suspect," he recalled. "It's like watching a masterclass in interviewing." While some might find the subject matter morbid or unsettling, Probst insists that his fascination with police interrogations stems from his respect for the skill and dedication of law enforcement officials. "I think what I find most compelling is the way these detectives use psychology and persuasion to get the truth out of people," he said.
