"There are many benefits to carpooling," Wessman notes. "Not only can it reduce traffic congestion, but it's also a great way to make new friends and split the cost of gas." Apps like Waze Carpool and Carpool Buddy can connect you with fellow commuters traveling in your direction. Thirdly, consider alternative modes of transportation. While driving or taking a taxi may seem like the easiest option, they're not always the most affordable or environmentally friendly.
