Malampuzha Assembly Election Results 2026: CPM's A Prabhakaran Leads with 2012-Vote Margin The Malampuzha constituency in Kerala's 2026 Assembly Election has seen CPM candidate A Prabhakaran maintain a lead over BJP's C Krishnakumar, with the margin narrowing to 2012 votes as counting progresses. Prabhakaran, a 74-year-old graduate, is contesting his third consecutive election in the constituency, which falls under the Palakkad Lok Sabha segment. Early trends indicate he has secured 5,359 votes, while Krishnakumar has gathered 3,347 votes so far. Saji Pj of the Aam Aadmi Party and A Suresh of the Congress are also among the six candidates vying for the seat. The constituency, which had a voter turnout of 75.04% in the 2021 election, has historically been a stronghold for the Communist Party of India (Marxist). In 2021, Prabhakaran defeated V.S. Achuthanandan of the CPM by a margin of 25,734 votes. The 2016 winner was also Achuthanandan, who secured a similar victory. This year’s race is expected to be closely contested, with the final result likely to reflect the broader political dynamics in Kerala. Statewide, Congress is currently leading in 46 constituencies, while the CPM holds 29. The United Democratic Front (UDF) bloc, which includes Congress and the CPM, is ahead in 64 seats, just seven short of the 71-seat majority needed to form the government. The Left Democratic Front (LDF), comprising the CPM and other parties, leads in 42 seats. However, the final tally remains uncertain as counting continues across all 140 assembly seats in Kerala. In the Kongad constituency, Congress candidate Thulasi Teacher is leading with a margin of 6,995 votes over CPM’s Adv. K. Santhakumari, who currently holds 18,283 votes. This seat, previously held by Santhakumari, is now under threat as the Congress candidate gains momentum.#kerala #bjp #cpm #malampuzha_constituency #a_prabhakaran
