The incident, which occurred in West Bengal, has intensified accusations against the ruling party of using violence to suppress dissent. Das revealed that Abdul, a 26-year-old participant in the "Chalo Sansad" protest at the Jantar Mantar, had joined CJP’s initiative to audit government schools. The campaign, launched under the "Schools in Order" banner, aimed to engage citizens and parents in identifying areas needing improvement in public education. Abdul had visited a government school in his constituency, urging teachers to collaborate with the campaign. The attack unfolded the same night. According to Das, BJP operatives broke into Abdul’s home, subjected him to brutal violence, and even assaulted his father when he tried to intervene. The father’s condition deteriorated rapidly, leading to his death the following day. Das condemned the act as a "despicable crime," emphasizing that the BJP’s alleged hostility toward education and intellectuals has fueled such violence. The CJP leader accused the BJP of viewing education as a threat to its agenda, claiming the party believes "violence can achieve everything."
