Raven-Symoné and Original Cast Return for ‘Cheetah Girls: Next Gen’ Movie More than two decades after the release of the iconic Disney Channel original movie The Cheetah Girls, Raven-Symoné, Adrienne Bailon-Houghton, and Sabrina Bryan are set to reprise their roles in the upcoming The Cheetah Girls: Next Gen. Disney confirmed the project on Wednesday, July 8, marking the return of the original cast to the franchise. The new installment will star Symoné as Galleria and Bailon-Houghton as Chanel, with a special appearance from Bryan as Dorinda. Lynn Whitfield and Lori Alter will also reprise their roles as Galleria’s mother Dorothea and Chanel’s mother Juanita, respectively. Kiely Williams, who played Aqua in the original film, is not part of the announced cast. Disney Branded Television has greenlit Cheetah Girls: Next Gen for Disney+ and Disney Channel, with filming set to begin in South Africa later this month. Symoné will executive produce the project alongside Debra Martin Chase, who produced the first three Cheetah Girls movies. The film will introduce a new generation of characters, including Leah Sava’ Jeffries as Galleria’s daughter Faith, Carmen Sanchez as Chanel’s sister Dior, Kaileen Chang as Ruby, Sophie Lennon as Brooklyn, and Kamogelo Ramashala as Kendi. Sophia Bush will also appear in a supporting role as Jennifré. According to an official synopsis, the movie follows Galleria and Chanel as they travel to Africa with Faith and her three friends to volunteer at a wildlife sanctuary.
