NEET-UG Re-Test Sparks Outcry Among Nagpur Students Nagpur: The National Testing Agency (NTA) canceled the NEET-UG 2026 exam, originally held on May 3, after law enforcement confirmed the exam process had been compromised. The decision to conduct a re-test has triggered widespread anger, grief, and anxiety among students, parents, and educators across the country, with Nagpur—home to one of India’s largest coaching hubs—being particularly affected. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has transferred the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for further probe. Students expressed deep frustration over the sudden cancellation, which disrupted their preparation and cast doubt on their chances of securing government medical college seats. Shravani Kurve, a student who scored an estimated 614 marks after two years of rigorous preparation, said the re-test had shattered her confidence. “If our efforts are being undermined by flaws in the system, it is wrong. It is unfair,” she said. Avalokit Meshram, another student, described the situation as chaotic, noting the stress of uncertain future plans and the difficulty of regaining the focus she had during the original exam. “I don’t know what’s going to happen next. The dates haven’t been announced yet. We’ll have to strategize our preparation again, but it’s hard to get back to the flow I had before,” he added. Parents also voiced outrage, with Ajay Patil criticizing the NTA’s repeated failures. “If the NTA is full of corrupt people, then the entire agency should be removed. It should be given to another body,” he said. Sameer Phale, director of a prominent coaching institute, questioned the basis for canceling the entire exam. He pointed out that in 2024, the Supreme Court had rejected a re-examination request because only a small number of students were affected.#nagpur #nta #shrawani_kurve #avalokit_meshram #ajay_patil
