Ukrainian Strikes Kill Six in Russia, Officials Report Ukrainian missile strikes have killed six people and injured four in Russia’s Belgorod region, according to its acting governor, Alexander Shuvaev. The attacks, which occurred overnight, also damaged a building and a car in the village of Koloskovo, located near the border with Ukraine. A 14-year-old child was among those injured and was hospitalized, Shuvaev stated on Telegram. The strikes come amid escalating tensions in the ongoing conflict, with Ukraine intensifying its attacks deep inside Russia. Ukrainian officials confirmed that two people were killed in Russian drone strikes on the Sumy region, close to the Russian border. Meanwhile, Russia claimed that Ukraine launched its “largest-scale” attack of the year the previous night, resulting in at least seven casualties. Russian attacks on Ukrainian territory also killed seven people and injured over 39 on Saturday night. The conflict, which began with Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, has seen both sides accuse each other of targeting civilians. Russian officials reported that Ukrainian strikes have caused significant damage to infrastructure, including a warehouse belonging to Wildberries, a major Russian online retailer. Ukraine’s defense ministry stated that the latest attack disabled seven out of 10 of the company’s largest logistics centers, which Russia has used to supply its military. Ukrainian officials have defended their strikes, emphasizing that they are targeting Russia’s logistics networks. Maj Gen Vadym Skibitski, deputy chief of Ukraine’s intelligence service, claimed that attacks on facilities like Wildberries are part of Russia’s war effort, as the company is used to transport military equipment.#russia #ukraine #volodymyr_zelensky #wildberries #alexander_shuvaev
