NMC Swings Into Action After Flood Fury, Launches Survey Two days after torrential rain triggered widespread flooding across Nagpur, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) initiated a survey of waterlogging-prone areas to identify systemic failures and plan corrective measures. The decision came as the city grappled with the aftermath of heavy rainfall that overwhelmed drainage systems and caused significant disruption. Municipal Commissioner Vipin Itankar deployed all three additional commissioners to inspect affected zones, focusing on roads, schools, railway underbridges, and underpasses across the city’s 10 administrative divisions. The health department conducted a comprehensive survey of 1,430 households in 15 flood-affected localities. During the assessment, officials examined 15 suspected cases of infectious diseases, collected six samples of contaminated water, and distributed oral rehydration solution (ORS) packets to affected residents.
