During a recent launch event for his candidacy, he detailed initiatives targeting young people, emphasizing their role in the state's development. A key pledge is the establishment of a drug-free Tamil Nadu, accompanied by stringent anti-narcotic laws. To combat substance abuse, Vijay announced the creation of anti-drug councils in schools and colleges. Additionally, he proposed a scholarship program for students, offering loans up to 20 lakh rupees for higher education without collateral, starting from the 12th standard. To support graduates and vocational trainees, Vijay outlined financial assistance measures. Youth with degrees aged 29 and above who lack employment will receive 4,000 rupees monthly, while those from polytechnics will get 2,000 rupees. The government will also provide internships to 5 lakh students annually, with stipends of 10,000 rupees for graduates and 8,000 rupees for IT professionals. Vijay emphasized fostering entrepreneurship by offering interest-free loans of up to 25 lakh rupees for startups. He also pledged tax incentives, including a 2.5% GST exemption for companies employing 75% Tamil youth and a 5% discount on electricity bills for such businesses. Local job creation is another focus, with plans to launch a "Chief Minister's Youth Service Partner" scheme in every village. This initiative aims to provide employment to 5 lakh youth through community-based projects. A state youth advisory council will also be formed to gather feedback from young people on policy decisions.
