The ruling was delivered on Saturday, with the court directing all 47 individuals to surrender within 60 days. Those who comply with the order will have their sentences annulled, and the case will be retried on its merits. The accused were required to appear before the court by May 7. ATC Judge Amjad Ali Shah announced the verdict, while Special Prosecutor Zaheer Shah represented the state in the proceedings. The court issued warrants for the execution of the sentence and surrender orders. If the fine of Rs500,000 is not paid, the accused will face additional imprisonment. The 47 individuals convicted include prominent PTI figures such as Omar Ayub Khan, Shibli Faraz, Shahbaz Gill, Zulfi Bukhari, Murad Saeed, Zartaj Gul, Hammad Azhar, Kanwal Shauzab, Sheikh Rashid Shafiq, Ejaz Khan Jazi, Shaukat Ali Bhatti, Usman Saeed Basra, Muhammad Ahmad Chattha, Rai Hassan Nawaz, and Rai Muhammad Murtaza, among others. According to the court’s written verdict, the accused were found guilty of conspiracy related to the May 9 incidents, which involved violent protests. A Joint Investigation Team (JIT) identified them as key suspects in planning the attacks.
