The accused, identified as Ashish Shastri and Anurag Katariya, were her former colleagues at a computer institute and had ties to her husband, according to Khaparkheda police. The woman, who married in 2023, claimed she was trying to lead a normal life with her husband, a site supervisor in construction, but her old associates continued to supply her with drugs and demand sexual favors. The police complaint details how Shastri and Katariya allegedly lured her with promises of free MD injections before forcing her into sexual acts at isolated locations, including hotels and lodges in the city. The two accused are currently at large, and investigators are examining claims that the woman was administered addictive powders since her school days, leading to long-term dependency. She described how the peddlers exploited her by offering free doses, despite her efforts to quit. Senior Inspector Harish Rumkar of Khaparkheda police emphasized the complexity of the case, stating that a sensitive approach is required to uncover details about the drug network. “We are actively pursuing the arrest of the accused, and their custodial interrogation will reveal more about the drug trafficking involved,” Rumkar said.
