Cockroach Janta Party Launches Nationwide Expansion Amid Calls for Political Reform Less than two weeks after concluding its successful protest at Jantar Mantar, the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has announced a series of initiatives aimed at expanding its influence across India. The group, which maintains it is a social organization despite its political activism, unveiled plans for a nationwide membership drive, a public dialogue initiative, and an organizational restructuring. These announcements were made during a two-day core committee meeting in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, marking a significant step in the group’s evolution. The CJP’s new “Kya Bolti Public” initiative, meaning “What is the public talking about,” seeks to engage with ordinary citizens from diverse regions of the country. The group also plans to launch a crowd-funding campaign to support its expansion efforts. While education reforms remain a central focus, the CJP has broadened its agenda to include electoral and judicial reforms, as well as demands for institutional and media accountability. The party’s first national working committee reflects a youthful leadership structure, with members ranging in age from 25 to 35. This committee includes Abhijeet Dipke, the founder and national convenor, along with co-convenors Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das. Other key roles are held by Ajinkya Shinde as executive head, Deepak Baliyan as co-incharge, Aafreen Nawaz as national secretary, and Vijay Reddy Mallangi as media lead. The committee also features specialists in legal affairs, research, technology, and finance, underscoring the group’s emphasis on structured governance.
