Transperson Dies by Suicide After Losing Legs in Train Accident A 35-year-old transperson, Radhika Jadhav, died by suicide inside ward no. 17 of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Nagpur on Thursday morning. Police confirmed that Radhika, a resident of Nandgaon Peth in Amravati, was a train beggar who had suffered severe injuries after falling off a moving train near Badnera railway station on April 23. The accident resulted in the amputation of both her legs, and she was initially treated at a local hospital before being transferred to GMCH for further care. According to hospital sources, Radhika endured intense pain and complications following the double amputation. In the early hours of Thursday, she recorded a voice note expressing her distress. The recording, which has been examined by investigators, reportedly contained her plea: “The pain is unbearable. I am committing suicide. I am ending my life's journey. Please hand over my mortal remains to Amrapali in Amravati for the last rites.” She also requested that her body not be subjected to a post-mortem. Authorities believe Radhika used a bandage strip tied to her hospital bed to take her own life around 1:10 a.m. Her body was discovered approximately seven hours later by hospital staff, who found her missing from her bed. Doctors later confirmed her death. A companion had been staying with her in the ward during her recovery. The Ajni Police station has registered an accidental death report and is conducting an inquiry. Officials have stated that no foul play is suspected at this stage. The voice recording is being analyzed, and statements are being collected from Radhika’s companion, hospital staff, and other relevant parties.#nagpur #amravati #government_medical_college_and_hospital #radhika_jadhav #badnera_railway_station
