The scooter is now available for purchase at an upfront cost of Rs 49,999 ex-showroom, under a Battery-As-A-Service (BaaS) model. This model allows customers to buy the scooter without the battery, significantly reducing the initial cost. For those who prefer to purchase the scooter with the battery included, the price is Rs 84,500 ex-showroom. Under the BaaS scheme, buyers can opt for a monthly rental plan starting at Rs 862, with the battery covered under an extended warranty. This approach aims to lower the barrier to entry for electric vehicle ownership by separating the cost of the scooter from the battery, which is often a major expense. The Orbiter V1 becomes the entry-level option in TVS’s electric scooter range, with the company also introducing a higher-capacity variant, the Orbiter V2, featuring a 3.1 kWh battery. The Orbiter V1 is powered by a 1.8 kWh battery pack, offering a certified range of 86 km on a single charge. Charging the battery from 0 to 80 percent takes approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes. The scooter includes two ride modes—Eco and Power—as well as regenerative braking to enhance energy efficiency. Additional rider assistance features such as Hill Hold Assist, Cruise Control, and Parking Assist are designed to improve usability in everyday driving scenarios. The launch expands the Orbiter lineup, offering two variants to cater to different customer needs.
