Live Tour de France Coverage to Be Broadcast on S4C and BBC iPlayer S4C has confirmed it will broadcast this year’s Tour de France, with live-streaming available on BBC iPlayer. The announcement comes just days before the race begins on Saturday, offering UK viewers an alternative to paying for TNT Sports subscriptions. S4C will sublicense the coverage from TNT Sports, which holds exclusive rights to the event, while providing its own Welsh-language commentary. The presenting team includes Rhodri Gomer, Peredur ap Gwynedd, Gruff Lewis, and Manon Lloyd. The broadcast will feature live coverage of select stages, including stages 1, 2, 3, 19, 20, and 21. Stage 18 will also be exclusively streamed on S4C Clic, BBC iPlayer, and S4C Chwaraeon’s YouTube channel. This marks the 13th consecutive year S4C has covered the race, and the channel is currently negotiating to secure rights for the 2027 edition. Notably, the 2027 Tour will begin in the UK and pass through Wales for the first time in its history, a development that has excited the presenting team. In addition to live coverage, S4C will offer highlights via its platforms and digital services. The race’s start and finish will be available for free, with other UK broadcasters also contributing to free highlights. ITV 4 lost its broadcasting rights after Warner Bros. Discovery Sports Europe acquired the Tour’s exclusive live broadcast rights. Presenter Peredur ap Gwynedd expressed enthusiasm about S4C’s continued involvement, stating, “I am very happy that S4C is broadcasting the Tour de France once again, for the 13th year in a row. It's pretty bonkers that we've broadcast the race since 2014.#tnt_sports #s4c #bbc_iplayer #peredur_ap_gwynedd #tour_de_france
