Despite facing criticism for his stance, Gavai asserted that his choice to appoint Justice AS Chandurkar to the Supreme Court had been vindicated by the judge’s performance over the past year. “Looking back, the decision I took was correct. That has been proved over the past year. Justice Chandurkar has demonstrated through his work that the decision was perfectly justified,” Gavai stated.
