The Himalayan 440 will be powered by a 443cc air/oil-cooled single-cylinder LS440 engine, the same unit used in the Scram 440. This engine produces 25.4bhp and 34Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed transmission. While the power output is expected to remain consistent with the Scram 440, the larger displacement and refined tuning should provide better low-end and mid-range performance, making the bike more suitable for both off-road terrain and relaxed touring. The engine’s characteristics are likely to be retained, ensuring a balance between performance and fuel efficiency. One of the most notable design changes for the Himalayan 440 is its front wheel size. Unlike the Scram 440, which uses a 19-inch front wheel, the Himalayan 440 will feature a 21-inch front wheel, similar to the discontinued Himalayan 411.
