Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass and Free Update Details Revealed A major update for Pokémon Pokopia is set to launch on 5 August 2026, bringing both a free software update and the first paid DLC expansion, Bubbly Basin. The free update, version 2.0.0, will be available to all players, while the paid DLC will introduce new underwater content, towns, and gameplay mechanics. The release coincides with the Nintendo eShop sale, which begins on 4 August. The free update will add the move Dive, allowing players to explore underwater environments and build structures in the ocean depths. To unlock Dive, players must complete the quest “Raise the environment level!” in the town of Bleak Beach and already know the Surf move. Once learned, Dive enables players to swim alongside Water-type Pokémon, construct underwater buildings, and even lay railway tracks from land to the ocean floor. This expansion of gameplay will also let players develop towns in three dimensions, a feature previously limited to surface-level areas. The paid DLC, Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass—Part 1: Bubbly Basin, will debut on the same day as the free update. This expansion introduces a new underwater town called Bubbly Basin, where players can engage in unique activities. The town features watermelon farming, buoyant blocks for building floating structures, and bubble machines powered by Pokémon with the Generate specialty. Players will also encounter new Pokémon, such as Popplio and Ditto, who assist in town development. Watermelon farming in Bubbly Basin requires specific conditions. Seedlings in underwater crop fields can grow if a Pokémon with the Water specialty, like Mudkip, covers them with bubbles to provide oxygen. Additionally, Pokémon with the Grow specialty can accelerate crop growth.#pokemon_pokopia #nintendo #bleak_beach #bubbly_basin #nintendo_switch_online
