Toronto Blue Jays Reinstate Daulton Varsho, Option Charles McAdoo and Brendon Little The Toronto Blue Jays announced on Saturday that outfielder Daulton Varsho and reliever Lazaro Estrada have been reinstated from the injured list and will be active for Saturday’s game against the Chicago Cubs. The team also optioned infielder Charles McAdoo and lefty reliever Brendon Little to triple-A Buffalo to clear roster space. Manager John Schneider confirmed that right-handed pitcher Shane Bieber is set to make his season debut on Monday against the Houston Astros. Varsho, 29, had been on the injured list since June 10 due to left wrist inflammation. He resumed hitting this week and is expected to return to center field. This season, he has a .738 OPS with five home runs in 64 games. Estrada, 28, was placed on the IL in April with a shoulder impingement after making one appearance for the Blue Jays. In that outing, he pitched four innings against the Chicago White Sox, holding them scoreless and striking out three batters. Bieber’s return comes after a rehab start on Wednesday, where he threw 80 pitches over five-plus innings. He allowed five earned runs and 11 baserunners. The 31-year-old righty was acquired by the Blue Jays last summer and had undergone Tommy John surgery with the Cleveland Guardians the previous season. He made seven regular-season starts with Toronto in 2024, posting a 3.57 ERA and 1.017 WHIP in 40.1 innings. McAdoo, who was called up in April, batted .160 with one home run in eight games. Little, optioned to triple-A in April after a poor start to the season, made one more appearance in the majors. During a 16-2 loss to the Chicago Cubs on Friday, he gave up four runs in one inning.
