Stryker Launches SmartHospital Platform with AI, Sensors Stryker, a leading medical technology company, has introduced its SmartHospital Platform, a digital solution designed to unify devices, data, and workflows across healthcare facilities. The platform leverages artificial intelligence and ambient sensors to address challenges such as system fragmentation, staff workload, and high patient volumes. Announced ahead of the 2026 HIMSS Global Conference & Exhibition, the SmartHospital Platform aims to create a cohesive smart ecosystem for hospitals and health systems. The initiative is led by Stryker’s Smart Care business, which focuses on modernizing healthcare workflows. The platform is tailored to scale across diverse hospital needs, offering insights to support clinical decisions and improve operational efficiency. Key features include integrating medical devices and data to streamline clinical and administrative tasks, voice-activated communication tools to reduce communication gaps, virtual nursing and monitoring workflows, and an environment that adapts to dynamic care settings. Scott Sagehorn, vice president and general manager of Smart Care at Stryker, highlighted the platform’s differentiation from existing hospital management systems. He explained that SmartHospital operates in a space between electronic health records (EHRs) and revenue cycle management, where workflows are often fragmented. By unifying core capabilities such as virtual care, ambient technology, and hands-free communication into a single platform, Stryker aims to create a centralized interface for managing these functions. The platform also integrates with over 280 technologies, including major EHR systems, imaging tools, and workflow platforms, ensuring compatibility with existing hospital IT infrastructure.#stryker #smart_hospital_platform #scott_sagehorn #care_ai #himss_global_conference_exhibition
