CESC on monsoon alert after rain disruptions Amid ongoing power disruptions and public complaints stemming from heavy rainfall, the Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) has been directed to enhance its monsoon preparedness measures. The focus of these efforts includes improving complaint resolution processes, ensuring uninterrupted public helpline services, and maintaining an adequate stock of emergency supplies. The directive came during a monsoon preparedness review meeting held at CESC’s main office in Mysuru on Saturday, presided over by Regional Commissioner and CESC in-charge M.D. Nitesh Patil. During the meeting, Mr. Patil emphasized the need for the power utility to be fully equipped to handle electricity disruptions and emergencies during the monsoon season. He reviewed the preparedness measures across the five districts under CESC’s jurisdiction, seeking detailed updates on complaint management systems, public response mechanisms, protocols for addressing power outages, and the availability of essential materials. Highlighting the critical role of communication, he stated, “If the public cannot reach the utility, problems cannot be resolved quickly. Complaint reception and response systems must therefore be strengthened.” Mr. Patil ordered officials to ensure all toll-free and public contact numbers remain operational around the clock, including reactivating any inactive helpline numbers. He also instructed that sufficient stock of poles and other critical materials be maintained in advance to avoid delays in procurement during disruptions. This proactive approach aims to prevent further service interruptions caused by the recent rainfall.#mysuru #casc #md_nitesh_patil #technical_director_sharanamma_s_jangin #chief_engineer_l_lokesh
