Avengers: Doomsday Now Includes 7 Recast Superheroes The upcoming Avengers: Doomsday film features seven superheroes whose roles have been recast, with new actors taking over from previous performers. Marvel Studios has a history of recasting roles in its Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), and this latest project continues that trend. The film, set for release on December 18, 2026, includes characters played by actors stepping into roles previously held by others, marking a significant shift in casting for the MCU’s next major team-up film. Among the recast characters is Cassie Lang, Scott Lang’s daughter, who becomes the superheroine Stature in the film. Originally portrayed by Abby Ryder Fortson in her most recent appearance, the older Cassie was briefly played by Emma Fuhrmann in a scene from Avengers: Endgame. Kathryn Newton will return as Cassie in Doomsday after first replacing Fuhrmann in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. This marks Newton’s return to the role, which she initially took over from Fortson. The X-Men roster also sees multiple recasts. Kelsey Grammer will reprise his role as Dr. Hank McCoy/Beast, a character he first played in X-Men: The Last Stand (2006) and later in X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) and the mid-credits scene of The Marvels (2023). However, Beast was originally portrayed by Steve Bacic, who made his only Marvel appearance as the character in the 2003 film X2. Sir Ian McKellen, the 87-year-old actor, will reprise his role as Erik Lensherr/Magneto for the sixth time. McKellen’s portrayal of Magneto has been a staple of the X-Men franchise since X-Men: The Last Stand, with Michael Fassbender playing the younger version of the character in three films, including Days of Future Past.#avengers_doomsday #kathryn_newton #marvel_studios #cassie_lang #kelsey_grammer
