Gurgaon Residents to Register for Census Online Starting April 16, DC Announces Digital Process The National Census-2027 process in Gurgaon will transition to a fully digital format starting April 16, with residents able to register and submit their details through an online portal or a dedicated mobile application. Deputy Commissioner Ajay Kumar emphasized that this shift marks a significant change from previous census methods, aiming to enhance efficiency and citizen participation. The initiative, part of a broader national effort, will see the first phase of house listing conducted from May 1 to May 30, 2026, followed by population enumeration from February 9 to February 28, 2027. Residents will be required to register via the official portal at www.se.census.gov.in, where they will input their mobile numbers to receive an OTP for login. Upon submission, participants will be assigned a unique self-enumeration ID via SMS and email, which will be used to verify their information during the second phase of the census. Enumerators will visit households only for verification purposes, reducing the need for in-person data collection. The DC highlighted the importance of accurate and complete responses from citizens, stressing that the data collected is legally binding. To support the digital transition, a specialized mobile application has been developed for enumerators, capable of functioning offline and syncing data once connectivity is restored. This ensures seamless operations even in remote areas with limited internet access. Training for census officials and supervisors began on April 6, with 28 batches organized from April 6 to 8. Additional training sessions are scheduled for April 9–11, April 15–17, and April 20–22 to ensure all personnel are adequately prepared.#gurgaon #deputy_commissioner_ajay_kumar #national_census_2027 #self_enumeration_id #census_portal
