Koradi Gears Up For Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Cup Kabaddi Nagpur’s historic temple town of Koradi, renowned for its 350-year-old Shri Mahalakshmi Jagdamba temple dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi, is set to host the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Cup Senior State-Level kabaddi tournament. The event, organized annually by the Maharashtra government, will take place over five days at Sevanand Vidyalaya in Koradi, marking the first time the tournament is held in Vidarbha after a 19-year gap. The competition aims to inspire kabaddi players across the state and provide a platform for them to compete at the state level. The tournament will be jointly organized by the Deputy Director's Office, Sports and Youth Services, Nagpur Division, the Amateur Kabaddi Association of Vidarbha, and the Nagpur Rural Kabaddi Association. It will be inaugurated by Maharashtra’s deputy chief minister and sports minister, Sunetra Pawar, at 6:30 pm on Thursday. The opening ceremony will feature a laser and firecracker display, along with performances by international yoga players. State Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Guardian Minister of Bhandara Pankaj Bhoyar, MLA Ashish Jaiswal, and other officials will also attend the event. To ensure smooth conduct, four international-standard mat courts have been prepared. The tournament will see participation from 448 players and officials from across Maharashtra, with 12 men’s and 12 women’s teams competing. Additionally, four Vidarbha teams—Nagpur, Amravati, Bhandara, and Washim—will join the fray. The teams have been divided into four groups. In the men’s category, Nagpur’s team will face Pune, Sangli, and Nashik in Group D, while Nagpur District’s women’s team will compete against Mumbai Sub-Urban, Palghar, and Parbhani in Group A.#koradi #shri_mahalakshmi_jagdamba_temple #chhatrapati_shivaji_maharaj_cup_kabaddi #sevanand_vidyalaya #sunetra_pawar
