The event, which also included the foundation stone-laying of key projects, was attended by Governor Ashim Kumar Ghosh, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, and Union Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw. The prime minister launched the hydrogen-powered train connecting Jind and Sonipat, describing it as a significant step toward green mobility and a success of the ‘Make in India’ initiative. This marks India’s entry into a select group of nations with operational hydrogen trains, signaling progress in adopting clean energy for transportation. At the district-level events, ministers, MPs, MLAs, public representatives, administrative officers, and citizens gathered to watch a live telecast of the ceremony and pledged to advance the vision of Viksit Bharat-2047. Haryana Energy Minister Anil Vij, present in Ambala, highlighted the train’s historic significance, calling it a milestone for the nation and a boost for Haryana’s development. He emphasized the shift from conventional energy sources like coal and gas to hydrogen-based clean energy, which he believes will shape the future of transportation.
