Nagpur University Grants Final Chance for BTech Students to Clear Backlog Nagpur University (NU) has announced a special measure allowing engineering students who failed their second-year examinations to take a one-time opportunity to clear their backlog. The decision, approved by the university’s academic council during a meeting on August 10, was officially notified on August 14. This initiative aims to provide relief to students under the Choice Based System (CBS) and Choice Based Credit System (CBCS), who face academic disruptions due to uncleared second-year subjects. Under the new provision, eligible students will be granted temporary admission to the fourth year of their affiliated colleges. This temporary admission is specifically for appearing in their pending second-year examinations scheduled for the Winter-2026 academic session. The university emphasized that this measure operates independently of its existing “Carry-On” provisions, which typically allow students to progress to higher years after clearing pending coursework. The temporary admission will be confirmed only if the student successfully clears their second-year exams. However, if the student fails to pass, the temporary admission will be automatically revoked. Additionally, the university clarified that students will be governed by the scheme of examination (S.O.E.) in force at the time they eventually clear their exams, rather than the scheme under which they originally appeared. To qualify for this special provision, students must submit a mandatory undertaking on a Rs100 stamp paper.
