The crisis, fueled by dwindling fuel stocks and fears linked to the West Asia conflict, led to long queues, disrupted traffic, and frantic efforts by motorists to secure fuel. Reports indicated that fuel tankers had not arrived in the city over the weekend, exacerbating the situation. The panic began gathering momentum on Monday night, prompting early morning rush hours as residents rushed to refuel. By Tuesday, many stations had shut down, with outlets in Wadi, Rameshwari, near the CID office, and Godhani among those forced to close. Sources in the district administration noted that the lack of incoming fuel tankers had worsened the crisis, leaving dealers unable to replenish supplies. The shortage created bottlenecks across key roads, with vehicles lining up for hours at pumps. At the RBI Square petrol station, queues stretched to Kingsway Hospital, while traffic snarls blocked Wardha Road, Amravati Road, Sitabuldi, Sadar, and other areas. Motorists, unable to move their cars, sat idle under the sun, engines off, hoping for a break in the chaos. Jay Pardhi, who managed to refuel on North Ambazari Road, described waiting nearly 45 minutes to fill his tank. “I was on my way home when my parents called and asked me to get a full tank. I rushed to the station and filled ‘Power’ petrol at around ₹113 per litre,” he said. Many others opted for premium fuel or returned empty-handed after hours of waiting.
