Uttar Pradesh Government Launches Scheme to Enable Monthly Income of ₹51,000 Through Cow Rearing The Uttar Pradesh government has introduced a new initiative, the Chief Minister Participation Scheme, aimed at enabling individuals to generate up to ₹51,000 per month through cow rearing without significant financial investment. The scheme provides free access to four cows, along with monthly subsidies for their maintenance, offering a dual benefit of economic support and potential income from milk sales. Under the scheme, eligible applicants can select four cows from government livestock centers and receive a monthly subsidy of ₹6,000 for their upkeep. This financial assistance is disbursed in installments of ₹18,000 every three months directly into the beneficiary’s bank account. The subsidy can be used for fodder, veterinary care, and other essential expenses, ensuring the cows remain healthy and productive. The scheme’s primary objective is to provide a sustainable income source for participants. If the cows begin producing milk, farmers can sell it at local market rates. According to government estimates, a healthy dairy cow can yield approximately 30 liters of milk daily. At an average selling price of ₹50 per liter, this translates to a daily income of ₹1,500. Over a month, this amounts to ₹45,000, which, when combined with the monthly subsidy of ₹6,000, brings the total potential monthly income to ₹51,000. The initiative also addresses the welfare of stray cows by offering them shelter and care.
