Daredevil: Daniel Blake's Death Scene Revised with CGI After Filming The seventh episode of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 has sparked significant discussion after the fatal murder of Deputy Mayor Daniel Blake, a key ally of Kingpin/Mayor Wilson Fisk. The scene, which saw Blake killed by Buck Cashman during a confrontation, was originally filmed with a different outcome. Showrunner Dario Scardapane later decided to alter the scene using post-production effects, changing Blake’s fate from survival to death. Blake’s death occurs during a tense showdown between Cashman and Blake, who had previously defied Cashman’s orders to kill journalist BB Urich. Blake’s decision to protect Urich led to his downfall, as Cashman confronts him about the betrayal. In the original filming, Cashman points his gun at Blake but does not pull the trigger, sparing him. However, Scardapane later revised the scene, adding a gunshot to ensure Blake’s demise. Scardapane explained that the initial decision to keep Blake alive was meant to explore his potential role in Fisk’s administration. “The way that it would have gone is that he stayed in the Fisk administration,” Scardapane said. “He goes in to resign, and the new interim mayor is like, ‘I’m not taking your resignation. I’m going to keep you close because I don’t trust you.’” However, the showrunner later felt the arc was stretched too far. “This feels so wrong,” he admitted. “It doesn’t feel like the story was earned.” The decision to kill Blake was also influenced by the characters’ dynamic. Scardapane noted that both Blake and Cashman, despite their twisted friendship, needed to remain true to their personalities. “Wait a second. He and Buck, in their twisted friendship, both had to be true to who they were,” Scardapane said.#daredevil_born_again_season_2 #dario_scardapane #daniel_blake #buck_cashman #michael_gandolfini
