NU Created Academic Ecosystem in Central India in 103 Years: Mafsu VC Nagpur University (NU) has been instrumental in shaping the academic landscape of Vidarbha and Central India over its 103-year history, according to Dr. Niteen Patil, vice-chancellor of Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University (MAFSU). Speaking at the university’s 103rd Foundation Day celebrations, Dr. Patil highlighted the transformative role of NU in fostering education and research in the region. He emphasized that the challenges facing higher education today have evolved significantly since the university’s establishment over a century ago, necessitating a shift toward preparing students for emerging fields such as artificial intelligence, biotechnology, climate science, the automobile sector, and digital technologies. Dr. Patil called for universities to align their efforts with the national vision of Viksit Bharat @2047, urging an adopt-a-mission approach to achieve the goal of a developed India. He stressed that Foundation Day should not only be a celebration of past achievements but also a platform to define institutional priorities for the year ahead. The event, held at Gurunanak Bhavan on Ambazari Road, saw dignitaries and university officials gather to reflect on NU’s contributions. Dr. Patil also proposed collaborative research initiatives between NU and MAFSU to accelerate development in Vidarbha, underscoring the importance of partnerships in addressing regional challenges.
