Nagpur Doctor Dies by Suicide Inside Hospital Cabin, Medical Fraternity in Shock A senior medical practitioner, Dr. Eshwar Chandewar, 42, who was in charge of Neuron Hospital in Dhantoli, Nagpur, died by suicide inside his hospital cabin early Monday, according to police. The incident has left the city’s medical community in shock. Authorities confirmed that no suicide note was found, and the exact trigger for his decision remains under investigation. Dr. Chandewar reportedly arrived at the hospital around 5 a.m. and locked himself inside his cabin. Hospital staff and police discovered his body slumped on his chair approximately six hours later, around 11 a.m. The police and hospital personnel immediately transported him to the Intensive Care Unit, but efforts to revive him were unsuccessful. An autopsy report revealed that the cause of death was an overdose of anaesthesia drugs. Forensic experts noted injection marks on his wrist, suggesting the drugs were administered intravenously. The body was sent to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) mortuary for further analysis, with viscera samples preserved for additional testing. Senior police inspector Sainath Ramod, who is handling the case, stated that the investigation is ongoing and that hospital staff will be questioned on Tuesday. He ruled out foul play, citing CCTV footage that showed no suspicious activity. The footage captured a nurse entering and exiting the cabin before Dr. Chandewar locked himself inside.
