Himachal Pradesh Class 12 Results Highlight Dominance of Government Schools Over half of the top 100 rankers in the Himachal Pradesh Class 12 exams have emerged from government schools, with the pass percentage surpassing 92% for the first time in recent years. The results, announced by the State School Education Board, reflect a significant shift in academic performance, underscoring the growing effectiveness of public education in the region. Chief Minister Sukhvir Singh Sukhhu praised the efforts of students and teachers, attributing the success to improved infrastructure, quality teaching, and government initiatives aimed at bridging the gap between public and private education. The 2026 results mark a notable milestone, as 51 students from government schools secured positions in the top 100 merit list, compared to 41 in 2025 and 33 in 2023. This year’s top 100 includes 48 girls and 10 boys, a testament to the increasing participation of female students in competitive exams. The pass percentage for government schools reached 92.02%, a significant jump from 88.64% in 2025 and 73.76% in 2024. This trend highlights the government’s success in improving educational outcomes, particularly in rural and underserved areas.
