He had previously reviewed arrangements with Central Government Secretaries on June 1, 2026, and held a separate meeting with State Government Chief Secretaries on June 4, 2026, to evaluate progress and preparedness. These meetings aimed to strengthen coordination and ensure the credibility of the re-examination process. The original NEET-UG exam was held on May 3, 2026, but was canceled by the NTA on May 12 after allegations of a paper leak were raised. The National Testing Agency suspended the exam following these complaints. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has since taken charge of the investigation into the case, and authorities have made several arrests in connection with the matter.
