UP Government Launches Comprehensive Education Reforms to Empower Students and Educators The Uttar Pradesh government has unveiled a series of transformative initiatives aimed at enhancing educational accessibility, financial support for students, and improving the working conditions of educators. These measures, announced ahead of the Holi festival, focus on direct financial aid, streamlined processes, and targeted schemes to uplift the education sector. Enhanced Scholarships and Stipends The state has significantly increased scholarship amounts for students, particularly benefiting meritorious and economically disadvantaged learners. Additionally, the government has raised honorariums for education facilitators and mentors. Education facilitators will now receive ₹18,000 per month (up from ₹10,000), while mentors will get ₹17,000 monthly, effective from April 2026. Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) for Faster Disbursement To ensure timely financial support, the government has overhauled the scholarship distribution system. Funds will now be directly transferred to students’ bank accounts via DBT, eliminating delays and ensuring transparency. This change aims to reduce the waiting period for beneficiaries, who previously had to wait until the end of the academic year for payments. Scooter Scheme for Meritorious Female Students A dedicated ₹400 crore fund has been allocated under the UP 2026 budget to provide free scooters to meritorious female students. This initiative is designed to promote women’s education and empowerment, addressing barriers related to transportation and mobility. Transparent and Efficient Processes The government has emphasized transparency in the scholarship distribution process, ensuring that funds reach the intended beneficiaries without bureaucratic hurdles.#uttar_pradesh #up_government #holi_festival #up_2026_budget #education_facilitators
