Armed aggression in Montreal: a 24-year-old man shot A 24-year-old man was shot during the night of Tuesday to Wednesday in the Plateau-Mont-Royal district of Montreal. The Montreal Police Service (SPVM) received calls to 911 shortly after 1 a.m. regarding gunfire on Rue Durocher, near Sherbrooke Street West. Officers dispatched to the scene located the injured victim with a gunshot wound to the lower body, according to Montreal police. The young man was taken to the hospital in critical condition, said SPVM spokesperson Florence Stafford. His condition stabilized later at the hospital. No arrests have been made in the case so far, as the suspect or suspects reportedly fled before the police arrived. Initial investigation steps indicated that the attempted murder was linked to a conflict that escalated between the victim and the suspect, who are known to each other. The investigation is ongoing.
