Yamaha Launches FZ Blue Flex at ₹1.24 Lakh in India's E85 Flex-Fuel Push India Yamaha Motor has officially introduced the Yamaha FZ Blue Flex, its first flex-fuel motorcycle capable of running on ethanol-blended fuels ranging from E20 to E85. Priced at ₹1,24,240 (ex-showroom), the model aligns with the Government of India’s initiative to promote cleaner, domestically produced alternative fuels and reduce reliance on conventional petrol. This launch positions Yamaha as a key player in India’s growing flex-fuel market, joining manufacturers like Hero MotoCorp and Suzuki in adopting the technology. The FZ Blue Flex is powered by a 149cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder Blue Core engine, specifically calibrated to handle higher ethanol content without compromising reliability. While the flex-fuel version produces slightly lower output compared to the standard FZ, this is a deliberate design choice to ensure compatibility with ethanol blends. The engine’s calibration allows it to adapt to varying ethanol concentrations, ensuring consistent performance across different fuel types. Mechanically, Yamaha has upgraded multiple fuel-system components to withstand the corrosive nature of higher ethanol blends. These include revised engine mapping, ethanol-compatible fuel lines and seals, and ECU calibration that automatically adjusts to varying ethanol concentrations. Visually, the motorcycle retains its familiar design for existing FZ owners but features Blue Flex graphics and branding to distinguish it from the standard model.
