The initiative, titled the "Integrated Coastal Tourism Development Scheme," is set to be implemented in the 2026-2027 fiscal year. The plan includes the introduction of Sea Plane and Heli Taxi services to enhance connectivity, alongside promoting Joy Ride and River Cruise activities to attract tourists. The government also emphasized improving the visitor experience by providing soft skill training to taxi drivers, auto operators, and security personnel, with a budget allocation of ₹1 crore. Additionally, a diploma course will be introduced at selected universities to equip tour guides with specialized skills, ensuring they meet industry standards. Key projects under the tourism development plan include the enhancement of the Gadag-Kappatgudda-Lakkundi tourism circuit, which is recognized as a major tourist destination. In Chikkamagaluru district, a ropeway project will be constructed between Mullayyani and Kuduremukh under a public-private partnership model. A total of ₹10 crore has been allocated to the Karnataka Craft Exposition Authority to develop infrastructure and promote traditional crafts. The state will also focus on preserving its heritage by identifying 1,000 heritage sites, including 844 protected monuments and 1,000 unprotected ones. These sites will be safeguarded through training 1,000 heritage site custodians and integrating them into official recognition lists.#siddaramaiah #karnataka_budget_2026 #integrated_coastal_tourism_development_scheme #gadag_kappatgudda_lakkundi #anjanadri_hill
