Armyman’s Wife Found Hanging in Wardha, Family Alleges Dowry-Related Violence A woman’s death under mysterious circumstances in Wardha district has prompted authorities to investigate alleged dowry-related harassment and cruelty. The victim, Roshni Mohite, was found hanging at her residence in Helodi-Ganeshpur last week. Her family has accused her husband, Vinod Mohite, and his relatives of subjecting her to physical and mental abuse over dowry demands, with claims that her death was staged to appear as a suicide. Roshni married Vinod Mohite, an Army officer, on March 27, 2024. According to the family’s complaint, the couple faced continuous harassment and abuse from her husband’s family shortly after the marriage. The victim’s relatives allege that she was forced to undergo an abortion against her will, a claim they say underscores the severity of the alleged mistreatment. The police have registered a case against eight individuals, including Vinod Mohite, for alleged cruelty and dowry harassment. Six of the accused have been arrested, while further inquiries are ongoing. The family claims that the victim’s injuries, including belt-like marks on her back and scratch wounds on her hands, indicate she was assaulted before her death. They argue that the incident was fabricated to conceal the true cause of her demise. Roshni’s mother, Gangabai Jadhav, expressed anguish over her daughter’s fate, demanding justice for the alleged atrocities. “My daughter should get justice and those responsible for the atrocities should be given strict punishment,” she stated. Roshni’s father, Raju Jadhav, reiterated that his daughter’s death was a direct result of the family’s relentless dowry demands. Other relatives have also called for a thorough investigation and strict action against those found guilty.#wardha #vinod_mohite #roshni_mohite #gangabai_jadhav #raju_jadhav
