Using advanced seismic imaging, geological sampling, and computer modeling, the team provided compelling evidence supporting the impact theory. Dr. Nicholson highlighted the role of new seismic imaging technology, which allowed unprecedented scrutiny of the crater’s structure. Geological samples from an adjacent oil well revealed rare minerals, including “shocked” quartz and feldspar crystals, found at the same depth as the crater floor.
