Samruddhi E-way Extension To Boost Industries In Eastern Vidarbha: CM The Maharashtra government has announced plans to extend the Samruddhi Expressway into eastern Vidarbha, a move expected to significantly enhance regional economic growth. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis emphasized the project’s importance during an inauguration event for the Godam Logistics Park, stating that completing the extension within the scheduled timeline is a top priority. The extension, which will add approximately 400 kilometers of six-lane highway, aims to reduce logistics costs, generate employment, and position the region as a key industrial hub. Fadnavis highlighted that the Samruddhi Expressway extension will serve as a critical infrastructure link, fostering industrial development in eastern Vidarbha. He noted that the project’s success hinges on its ability to lower transportation expenses and create job opportunities on a large scale. Additionally, he praised the state’s logistics policy, which has already transformed Nagpur into a national logistics hub. According to Fadnavis, the proliferation of logistics parks across the state will further reduce costs, a necessity for competing globally and integrating into international supply chains. The Samruddhi Expressway extension is currently in advanced preparation stages. The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has nearly completed joint land measurements for the extension toward Gondia and Gadchiroli. As of now, 104 out of 113 villages on the Gondia route and 58 out of 62 villages on the Bhandara leg have been surveyed. However, challenges remain, including an alternative alignment for the Chandrapur extension. The original route faced obstacles due to the discovery of coal blocks, prompting the need for a revised plan.#maharashtra_government #devendra_fadnavis #samruddhi_expressway #msrdc #godam_logistics_park

Nagpur Needs 20 More Mega Logistics Parks, Says CM CM Devendra Fadnavis and Union minister Nitin Gadkari inaugurated the Godam Logistics Park on Amravati Road on Sunday, marking the commissioning of one of Central India’s largest integrated logistics hubs. Gadkari emphasized Nagpur’s strategic position as a national logistics hub, noting its central location within the Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, and Kolkata quadrilateral. He highlighted the city’s status as the “Zero Mile of the country,” positioning it as a natural choice for logistics investments. Fadnavis stated that Nagpur requires at least 20 additional logistics parks, citing that every newly inaugurated facility was fully booked on its opening day. Gadkari addressed India’s logistics costs, which currently stand at 16% of GDP compared to 8% in China and 12% in European nations. He referenced a joint study by IIM-Bangalore, IIT-Chennai, and IIT-Kanpur, which found a 6% reduction in logistics costs. Gadkari claimed India’s costs have reached parity with China, crediting highway expansion and reduced fuel consumption for this progress. He urged the Godam Logistics Park team to install solar-powered fast electric charging stations, asserting that this would enhance cost efficiency while protecting the environment. Fadnavis announced a new state-level mega logistics policy aligned with the central Gati Shakti plan, which prioritizes Nagpur’s role in the national supply chain. He argued that high logistics costs are a major barrier to India’s manufacturing sector, stressing the need for globally competitive logistics to attract shifting global supply chains. Fadnavis noted the policy has received positive investor feedback, with entrepreneurs already beginning investments in the sector.#nitin_gadkari #cm_devendra_fadnavis #godam_logistics_park #gati_shakti_plan #vadhvan_port
