The incident occurred on Besa Chowk to Purushottam Bazar Chowk road, shortly after midnight, as the couple returned home from a family function. According to the FIR registered by police, the accused, Pankaj Dekate (47), a bank manager, allegedly rammed his vehicle into their two-wheeler, causing a head-on collision. Eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic, with the two-wheeler severely damaged and debris scattered across the road. Nitin Kalambe (30), the son-in-law of the deceased, told investigators that Dekate’s car collided with the two-wheeler, leaving the couple with grievous injuries.
