The Housemaid’s Secret Adds Kirsten Dunst Opposite Sydney Sweeney Lionsgate has announced the cast for the sequel to its 2025 hit The Housemaid, with Kirsten Dunst joining Sydney Sweeney in The Housemaid’s Secret. Based on Freida McFadden’s second book in the Housemaid series, the film will be directed by Paul Feig, who also helmed the original. Feig will collaborate with producers Todd Lieberman via Hidden Pictures, Lieberman’s Pretty Dangerous Pictures, and Sweeney’s Fifty-Fifty Films. Screenwriter Rebecca Sonnenshine, who adapted the first novel into the successful film, will return to pen the sequel. Michele Morrone, who played Enzo in the original, will reprise his role. The sequel follows Millie, portrayed by Sweeney, as she takes a housekeeping job for a woman she has never met. The plot centers on her discovery of a locked door that reveals secrets far more sinister than she anticipated. The project will be executive produced by Carly Elter of Hidden Pictures, Alex Young of Hidden Pictures, and Fifty-Fifty’s Kaylee McGregor. Lionsgate’s decision to cast Dunst was driven by her status as an A-lister and her recent work in Roofman. The studio secured her after a series of meetings, recognizing her as a perfect match for the role. Dunst, who is also set to star in the sequel to A Minecraft Movie and Ruben Östlund’s The Entertainment System Is Down, has been in high demand following her performance in Roofman. The original The Housemaid became a global box office success, grossing nearly $400 million worldwide after its holiday release. Lionsgate’s swift move to lock in Sweeney’s schedule and secure Dunst for the sequel underscores the film’s anticipated commercial potential.#kirsten_dunst #sydney_sweeney #paul_feig #hidden_pictures #fifty_fifty_films
