Single Window Clearances Planned for New Nagpur The Nagpur Metropolitan Region Development Authority (NMRDA) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) to establish a single window clearance system as part of its 11,300 crore New Nagpur Business District project. The agreement was finalized during the national conference on the “16th Finance Commission and Local Public Finance System,” hosted jointly by ICAI and the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) in New Delhi. This collaboration aims to enhance ease of doing business, implement digital governance systems, and streamline investor facilitation through transparent and technology-driven mechanisms. Metropolitan Commissioner Sanjay Meena, who attended the conference as the chief guest, emphasized the growing importance of financially sustainable and technology-enabled urban governance systems amid rapid urbanization. During a panel discussion on “Innovative financial models for local self-govt bodies,” Meena highlighted the NMRDA’s major infrastructure initiatives, including the New Nagpur Project, the Outer Ring Road, and multimodal connectivity corridors. The New Nagpur Business District, spanning 692.06 hectares, is projected to become a significant corporate and financial hub in central India. NBCC (India) Ltd has been appointed as the consultant for planning and execution. The single window clearance system is designed to simplify regulatory processes for businesses, reducing bureaucratic hurdles and promoting efficient project development. By integrating digital tools and advisory support from ICAI, the NMRDA seeks to create a more transparent and investor-friendly environment.#new_delhi #nagpur_metropolitan_region_development_authority #institute_of_chartered_accountants_of_india #icai #nagpur_business_district
