Two PG programmes launched at IITH The Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH) has introduced two postgraduate programmes under its Department of Chemical Engineering. The new courses include an M.Tech in AI/ML in Chemical Engineering and an M.Tech in Computational Chemical Engineering. These programmes aim to equip students with advanced skills in applying artificial intelligence, machine learning, and computational methods to solve complex engineering challenges. The M.Tech in AI/ML in Chemical Engineering focuses on integrating advanced algorithms and data analytics into areas such as process optimization, materials discovery, and predictive modeling. Students will learn to leverage computational tools to enhance efficiency in industrial processes. The Computational Chemical Engineering programme, on the other hand, emphasizes multiscale modeling and simulation of chemical processes. This curriculum combines principles of chemical engineering with mathematics and computing to address intricate problems in process design and analysis. Both programmes prioritize research-oriented learning, hands-on computational training, and collaboration with industry partners. The institute highlighted that these courses reflect its commitment to preparing engineers who can drive innovation through the fusion of domain expertise and digital technologies. Director B.S. Murty emphasized that modern engineering innovation is increasingly shaped by data, computation, and intelligent systems. He stated that the new courses align with IITH’s vision to cultivate professionals capable of using cutting-edge technologies for sustainable industrial and societal development.#iith #director_b_s_murty #chemical_engineering #ai_ml #computational_chemical_engineering
